Eye Candy

About Vintage Jewelry Hunt

Around 1985 I purchased my first vintage jewelry treasures. Two necklaces caught my eye, which I purchased from an antique dealer. After making those first two vintage jewelry purchases I didn't realize that it would become my passion years later.

In January 2003 I signed up for eBay and quickly discovered how easy it was to collect vintage jewelry from my desk chair! Coming around to the current time, I now regret the fact that I didn't hunt down lots of vintage jewelry from antique stores, flea markets and yard sales when the prices were still quite reasonable. I also have the same regret in regards to not buying more on eBay, when the prices for the unique sets often started at only $9.99, and when fewer people collected vintage jewelry.

Many of the sets that I would have gladly purchased at such low starting prices, cannot be purchased or won for less than hundreds of dollars! Designer sets from Selro, Selini, Judy Lee, and Juliana, are only a few examples that were once reasonable, and easier to come by. Now that vintage jewelry treasures are becoming more difficult to locate, and due to the increase of collectors, "quantity and demand" equates to higher prices.

As any collector of vintage jewelry, I not only enjoy the eye candy that comes from a vintage jewelry item or set, but I also enjoy the hunt for the treasure, and especially when out of town exploring new places. It's always a good way to remember a place that you visited, if you purchased a special treasure to connect the time and place.

When I purchase vintage jewelry on eBay sometimes it ends up being a disappointment, but most of the time I'm happy to receive what I won and purchased. The vintage items of jewelry that don't suit my fancy go back up for sale, with the hope that another collector will find them during their hunt for vintage treasures as candidates for their personal collection. As they say, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." and with the variety found in vintage jewelry, someone is bound to enjoy an item that I may have found to be less desirable.

Years ago I thought about starting a blog about my passion for vintage jewelry, but now that I'm ready to sell vintage jewelry on eBay again, I thought this would be a good time to start blogging about my passion for vintage jewelry. When you visit Vintage Jewelry Hunt, you can enjoy some of the vintage jewelry in my personal collection, vintage treasure troves I find along the way, and you can also snoop through my listings of vintage jewelry when I'm selling on eBay.

Have fun with your hunt for vintage jewelry and treasures, and be sure to come back and frequently visit Vintage Jewelry Hunt; where your love for vintage jewelry is transformed into a treasure hunt!
